Steamed Artichokes


  • artichokes
  • half of a lemon
  • salt
  • butter


  1. Put a steamer basket in a large pot and fill with water so that it reaches just under the basket. Squeeze a little lemon juice into the water and add a tablespoons of salt. Boil.
  2. Place artichokes in the steamer basket stem-side up. Cover with lid and steam until the heart is tender, about 30 minutes.
  3. Serve with melted butter.
