Boiled Lobster

This classic dish is always delicious and perfect for a special occasion dinner.


For the Lobster
  • lobsters
  • water
  • salt
For the Garlic Lemon Butter
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 clove minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay


For the Lobster
  1. Use 1/4 cup sea salt for every gallon of water.
  2. Fill a large pot with enough water for the lobster/lobsters to sit comfortably in and all the way under the water. You are going to want your water to be really boiling. A good rolling boil.
  3. Then after you put the lobsters in, cover with a lid.
  4. Stir the lobsters halfway through cooking.
  5. Let the lobsters sit for 5 minutes before you eat them so that the meat can absorb some of the moisture from the shell.
For the Garlic Lemon Butter
  1. Melt all ingredients together and whisk to combine.

1.25 lbs.- 9-10 minutes
1.5 lbs.- 11-12 minutes
1.75 lbs.- 12-13 minutes
2 lbs.- 15 minutes
2.5 lbs.- 20 minutes
3 lbs.- 25 minutes
5 lbs.- 35-40 minutes
