Keto Philly Cheesesteak Pizza

The classic Philly Cheesesteak Sub pizzafied!

The only other ingredient I added is hots. I put a little in the sauce and also some on top. The pizza really benefits from the heat and the acidity! Plus the hots give off major sub vibes which is exactly what we are going for here!

Keto Philly Cheesesteak Pizza

With all the classic Philly Cheesesteak ingredients on a fathead crust, this pizza is over-the-top delicious!

ingredients:

FOR THE CRUST
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 2 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 almond flour
FOR THE TOPPINGS
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 oz. shaved beef
  • 3 slices provolone
  • 2 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon hots
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
  • extra hots for garnish

instructions:

FOR THE CRUST
  1. Put mozzarella and cream cheese in microwave safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute.  Remove, stir, and microwave again for another minute or until melted.
  2. Mix in egg and flour.
  3. Knead with hands, spreading it and folding it in half repeatedly until incorporated.
  4. Roll out between two layers of parchment.  Remove top layer of parchment and transfer crust to baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 425 F for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
FOR TOPPINGS
  1. Caramelize onion by sauteing it with a couple teaspoons of olive oil in skillet on low heat for about 20 minutes or until softened and browned.  Set aside.
  2. In same skillet, turn heat up to medium and saute peppers and mushrooms just for a few minutes. 
  3. Add shaved beef to skillet and cook just a minute or two.
  4. Make sauce by melting provolone, cream cheese, heavy cream, and hots in small saucepan on low-medium heat.
  5. Assemble pizza by spreading sauce on, then topping with peppers, onions, mushrooms, beef, mozzarella, and hots.  Bake again at 425 for a few minutes or until cheese is melted.
